The fourth chapter of Mark's record of the gospel is powerful and insightful. To me, I see a central theme of yielding, focusing and fixing our attention on Christ Jesus. From the parable of the sower, we see Christ as the word-personified. When we receive him and obey His bidding, seek to be like Him and yield to Him, we will certainly bear much fruits and the fruits will remain.

In the 2nd parable of the seed, the sower's work is to plant, God makes the increase. All we need do after sowing is to depend on Him.

While calming the see, I receive comfort in that no matter the storms of life, if we are conscious of the Saviour's presence and we believe and Trust Him, the roaring storm will always come to a stand-still.
