Saul was persecuting the church, arresting, maiming, killing, etc, but when He encountered the Light from heaven, look at what Jesus said..

And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’

So this helps us to take solace in the fact that God is touched by what we feel or go through and will change it for our Good.
