A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a dealer in purple fabrics who was [already] a worshiper of God, listened to us; and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention and to respond to the things said by Paul.

If God had not opened her heart, preaching would have been fruitless for her. We tend to spend so much energy trying to preach to someone and we think it is because of our effort that they will repent and be saved.

But if God doesn't open the heart of such a one via The Holyspirit, it will be fruitless. May God help us
