GIVE THANKS
Job 1:21-22: "He said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God."
Job was a man who endured much trials & troubles. In the midst of these, he made certain profound statements like the one above. When waves of disasters cascaded down on Job in torrential outpouring, his immediate reaction was astonishing. Rather than complaining, despairing, cursing, withdrawing or sinking into depression, Job praised God. He said "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
Faced with challenges, Job acknowledged God's sovereignty. He refused to question God, deny God or curse God. Instead, He recognized God as the unquestionably God; and he blessed the name of the Lord. Do you see God as bigger than your problems? Then exalt Him. While it is easy to blame God, it is better to bless God. While it is natural to worry, it is more profitable to worship.
God want us to praise Him in all things. 1 Thessalonians 5.18 exhorts us: _"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." No matter how horrible our situation seems & how terrible it sounds, we must praise! When we praise God, we receive lifting in our circumstance; we receive strength to face the challenges ahead; we receive comfort to cope with the loss; and we receive hope to face the next day.
God will Help us to give Him thanks in all things and at all times.
