RE: What Jesus Didn’t Say

in #religion7 years ago

I agree with you on most points. "The Church" is a false trail away from the Way- a movement begun by Jesus.

I recently noticed something that Jesus DID say in John 16: "12 I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you." (ESV)

Why would Jeaus leave his teachings incomplete? Part of his plan to launch a revolutionary movement (possibly the most powerful part of his plan) was the impartation of his spirit into his followers. He tells them that they will have 100% access to all truth with the Spirit as a messenger between Eternal Lord of Heaven and Earth Jesus and those still on earth. To me, this means that Acts-Revelation is the "continued post-ressurection teachings of Jesus".
