The Sin of Unbelief

Romans 14:23

...for whatever is not of faith is sin
I am reminded of one Pastor who used to say that if the dream is not that big and does not scare you, it's not from God. The reason he said that was because God needs to to get all the glory. He also used to say that if your vision doesn't scare you, it's not big enough. Again, it's because we have to lean on God.

The Lord will always honour the work of faith. Always! He loves you and me so much when we step out of the boat and walk on the water. That's why He called Abraham His friend. So why did God call Abraham His friend?

Because Abraham believed in the promises of God; Abraham was a faith man. He waited almost a hundred years for his son Isaac. When Isaac was about thirteen years old, God said of him, "I want him back."

God never tempts, He tests. He tested Abraham. Abraham never hesitated. He took Isaac up onto the mountain and offered him as a living sacrifice. God was so touched by this man's love for Him, and by his faith, that He told him, "Don't kill the boy. There's a young ram caught in the thicket. Use the young ram as a sacrifice." That's why He loved Abraham.

We need to pray the prayer that the apostles prayed in Luke 17:5

Lord increase our faith.
