Whom Do You Run To When Faced With Challenges or Problems?
Challenges in life are inevitable. They are as sure as death. It has to happen in ones life.
When they do happen, whom do you run to? Whom do you tell? Who is your confidant?
A poster once had it all. Never tell people your problems. There is a fraction who have own problems. Some will laugh at you and yet others will broadcast your predicaments. So when with challenges, you are faced with more challenges of whom to tell.
The song 'What a friend we have in Jesus' says that we take all our ailings to God in prayer. Prayer is talking to God. He is the answer to all your problems. He is the ultimate solution.
God will never tell on you. He will never disappoint you. He is the Alpha and Omega, first and last.
Ending a prayer can be challenging. You do it in the way you know best. Christians often ask it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Why do they do it so?
It is because Jesus himself asked us to ask in His name. There are several passages that attest to this.
John 14:13
13 "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that athe Father may be glorified in the Son."
That is why those words usually marks the end of a prayer.
It happend you do not stop at that. There is one more thing that is added. That word is 'Amen'. Amen is actually AMN in Hebrew which stands for stability. It means, 'Let it be so.'
You actually want your prayer to be answered. Nobody wants to ask for anything and not get an answer.
God answers our prayer because he loves us. He means well of us. At times we may believe God is very far, yet when we call on Him He answers.
Jer 33:3
'Call to me and I will answer
you and tell you great and
unsearchable things you do
not know.'
There are times that God may postpone answering our prayers. At times it is because of sin.
Isaiah 59:1-2
"Behold, the Lord's hand is
not shortened, that it cannot
save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have
separated between you and
your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, that he
will not hear.
King James Version (KJV)
God will answer your prayers. He is a friend you can trust. God is love.
