So we are religious! We do all custorms and norms that our religion sets.

Maybe one is a Budhist, Christian, Moslem, Hinduist or atheist. You have been practising that religion for long. Your children have been trained in that religion too.

Can you say the religion has improved or worsened your life? You pray five times a day. You fast and pray. You go to church every Sunday. You pay offering and tithes. Do those things improve your life?

Lovely post. Most times we equate religion with actual worship which is borne out of deep fellowship with and love for God. Having a better understanding as to why we do what we do is key and not just following some set of laid down procedures. Serving God, praising Him, tithing, offerings and giving has always worked for me and still does.
