Thrive – Romans 15:13

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Notice the words “… the God of hope…” YHWH is the God of hope. In the midst hard times, He’s the God of hope. In the midst devastation, He’s the God of hope. In the midst of natural, national, or personal disaster, He is the God of hope.

He is the one who fills us with joy and peace as we trust in Him. That joy and peace comes when we trust in Him. When we trust in the one who is noted as the God of hope. When we trust in Him, our hearts will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

What I love about this verse is that it shows that it’s not just hope and peace that we can have in hard times. It shows He gives us joy in those times just the same. So, it’s not just “coping” through hard times, we can rejoice in hard times. So, we don’t just survive, we can thrive through hard times.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.

I don't normally share a video with the verse but Casting Crowns did a song called Thrive a few years ago and it seem appropriate to share it with all of you. If you have a couple of minutes please watch it and be encouraged!

I have discovered that these promises from YHWH are conditional and when the context (other verses surrounding the verse containing the promise) are obeyed then Abba will follow the obedience and repentance with restoration and joy. Just like a parent should restore love and compassion to their child after true repentance from breaking the rules.

Very well said....thanks for leaving this comment!

Wow I love this. Powerful devotion. And Yes you are so right. He is the God of hope, He is our strong tower and very present help in times of trouble. We can always lean on Him for strength in our down times. To God be the glory.

He says His burden is easy and His yoke is light...standing on that promise! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

We love Torah Family. Great encouraging word :)

I do as well, as you can see! I found Steve at 119 Ministries and when he started Torah Family it was natural to watch his teachings there too! Thanks for leaving a comment!
