Today I would like to look at 2 Peter 1 verse 5 to 9
5)For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6)and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7)and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
8)For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9)But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
We must not be complacent in our faith we must build on our faith. We must enrich or faith by building on it with Christian virtues. In other words we must live our lives by these Christian virtues and this will help us grow as Christians.

The fruits we receive come directly from the Holy Spirit to sand down the rough edges and harshness in our lives. It is God's joy, temperance and love for us that infuses our inner man to aid us during our struggles.

We must learn to build ourselves up in our most holy faith in Christ Jesus. Doing this will help us withstand what the Lord Jesus has warned us about in Matthew 24:4-13:
Amen, we must ensure that we keep our faith.
Certainly God furnishes the means whereby faith can be increased. But you increase your faith by doing two things: feeding it on the Word of God and exercising it—or putting it into practice.

A lot of people have done with their faith what the fellow in the Bible did with his one talent (see Matthew 25:25). They’ve just wrapped their faith up in a napkin, so to speak, and hid it. They haven’t used it at all.
