Today I would like to look at Nahum 1 verse 7
7)"The Lord is good; He protects His people in times of trouble; He takes care of those who turn to Him.
8)Like a great rushing flood He completely destroys His enemies; He sends to their death those who oppose Him."
The book of Nahum, is not a well known book, but it is a poem that celebrates the fall of Nineveh, the capital of Israels enemy, the Assyrians. The fall of Nineveh was seen as the judgement of God upon a cruel and arrogant nation.
In previous verses, it describes how God has control over nature, and His might and power, over everything.
In verse 7 it then describes that God is good and that He protects His children who loves Him and that He will take care of His children. Even if we have many and mighty enemies, God will still protect us and care for us. It gives us comfort to know that God looks after us in all circumstances.
