Today I would like to look at Matthew 5 verse 14 to 16
14)“You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15)No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead he puts it on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house.
16)In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
Can a city on top of a hill be hidden at night? The light of such a city will be visible over a long distance in the darkness. When we live for Christ we will be like such a light that shines brightly, a light that shows others what Jesus is like. We hide our light, when we keep quiet when we should talk against evil, when we follow the worlds ways, when we allow sin to dim our light, when we don't explain to others from where we received the light, when we ignore the needs of others.
We must be a bright beacon of light, and we must not hide our light from the world.
