Goodbye Ramadan

Finally we, the followers of Islam all over the world finished also perform fasting Ramadhan for one full month, although not until 30 days but the count remains one month, because in the calculation of the month in the hijriah, one month it could be made up of 28, 29 or 30 days, slightly different from the calculation of the Christian year which also consists of 28 or 29 days in February and 30 or 31 days for the other months

In our religious teachings, the month of Ramadan is a blessed month which is divided into three phases:

  • The first phase starts from one to ten Ramadan is a time of blessing, meaning anyone who is able to perform fasting Ramadan complete and perfect will get all the ease of life, both in the world, the grave and in the hereafter.
  • The second phase starting from the eleventh to twentieth of Ramadan is the Maghfirah Phase, meaning our god will grant pardon to his servant for all sins previously committed, except those concerning the sins of our fellow human beings and the debt of accounts, the sin of our fellow human beings will be forgiven when we apologize for the error directly to the person concerned.
  • The third phase starting from twenty-first Ramadan until the end of Ramadan is the phase of 'Itikum minan nar, meaning that anyone who can perform the worship perfectly in this phase, Allah will free us from the torment of hell fire in yaumil mahsyar later.

After the three phases of Ramadan are finished, then the ummah of Islam will welcome the feast of Fitrah, meaning in our trust all who have perfected the worship of Ramadan will return holy like a newborn baby to the world, without the burden of sin to his god.

But before the implementation of Salat Ied prayer there is one obligation that must be fulfilled by every Islamic ummah, which is paying Zakat Fitrah which obligation of payment starting at sunset at the end of Ramadan until Khatib up to the pulpit to deliver the sermon Eid al-Fitr.

Payment of Zakat Fitrah

Tonight I follow the payment procession and the distribution of Zakat Fitrah in the village where I am staying, I and the local community pay Zakat Fitrah by using staple food, that is rice with the amount already specified, Zakat Fitrah committee will refuse payment by using money, because Islamic teachings oblige his people to perform Zakat Fitrah with local staple food, meaning that if we eat wheat then Zakat Fitrah we are Wheat, so also if our staple foods Dates, Sago, Sweet or Corn.

I participated in this procession from the beginning to the end, and for the rest of my life, only this time I followed him, before I just deliver Zakat fitrah to the recipient committee then continue my day activities without knowing what then do to my Zakat Fitrah.

Here is a recording of the lens and a bit of information about how the acceptance and distribution of Zakat Fitrah in the villages where I live today:

  • The committee collects all Zakat Fitrah that have been received from the public, whether packed in jute or plastic bag

  • The committee then removes the rice from its packaging on the floor of the surau and stirs it equally, meaning that the beneficiaries will receive the rice in the same quality, because at the moment, there is no acceptance of the standard of rice quality, and in general, the community pays zakat fitrah rice is in accordance with the quality of rice in daily consumption

  • After the stir well, the committee will recalculate the amount of rice that goes with traditional measuring instruments, then group them into four parts, according to the usual zakat snif

  • Completed the calculation and distribution, the rice will be put back to the container available with the amount according to the criteria of the recipient Zakat Fitrah, to then escorted their home respectively

Finally, with great sincerity and from the bottom of my heart, I say:

Happy Eid al-Fitr Mubarak to everyone. May you all have a happy and blessed Eid. Enjoy the usual days and remember those who need our help. Idul Fitri Mubarak. Forgive my body and soul
