BATTLE FOR THE SOUL

Each day the Lord allows us to rise, we enter the battlefield where
we are sifted and assaulted by Satan.
By his demons we are,
strained by torment,
stabbed by unfaithfulness,
bound by sin,
shocked by betrayal,
pelted by doubt,
burned by revenge,
strangled by oppression,
pushed around by pity,
stepped on by heaviness,
pushed away by rejection,
cut down by sickness,
pierced by regret,
gripped by worry,
pulled apart by unbelief,
stroked by lust,
singed by malice,
goaded by greed,
blocked by self-confidence,
set on fire by anger,
pummeled by abuse,
captivated by guilt,
snared by seduction,
drowned by grief,
prodded by addiction,
rocked by disappointment,
seized and shaken by fear
grilled by worry,
jumped on by jealousy and envy,
stunted by perfectionism,
crushed by solitude,
squashed by arrogance,
threatened by death.
Hallelujah! Victory we have over all these things!
We stand like Shammah (2 Sam 23:12) with the whole armor and the sword of our God.
The word of God prevails over all as it stands firm in heaven with God our stronghold.
So, we stay on the path not going to the left or the right,
God’s word, his will, is to put all our enemies to flight.
Standing in Christ all our needs are met,
God is refining us by fire,
weighing our hearts and measuring our faithfulness.
We stand and we win.
