God's Love and Ours

1 John 4:7-21 - 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

3. Philos Love

3 Points of Christian Living:

1. Love God and Obey his will

Matthew 22:37-38 - 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

Why do we love?

Because God told us to do so!

The Divine Love according to the word of God

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

The real definition of love is crystal clear, most of us unable to do what the word of God is telling us to do. Heard a lot of news of a husband killed a wife, son killed his mother or father and etc. Because they don't follow and read the real definition of love. It is important for us to read and meditate the word of God everyday to remind us about the love of God for us that we should follow.

Jesus said in John 14:15 - If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Do you love God?

If so, then obey what God has commanded us.

2. Love Others as Christ Loved Us

Matthew 22:39-40 - 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

God's word says in the book of 1 John 4:9 - Christ died for us so that we will live with him. | 1 John 3:18 - “Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

Do you love Jesus Christ?

Then, show your love to others as Christ did!

3. Love gives confidence on the day of Judgement

1 John 4:17-18 - 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. Are you confident to face Christ on the day of Judgement?

If yes, Praise God! You have the love of God in you. | If you are not ready, then you need a self check, pray to him, repent from your sins and receive his love before it's too late.

Here's the rewards & consequences if we obey or disobey the commandments of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28 - 26 See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse— 27 the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; 28 the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.

So, if you want blessings to come into your life the obey God's command but if you don't want to obey expect the curse to come in your life.

Conclusion:

The bible tells us what true love is - 1 Corinthians 13:4

It's hard to love other person especially if they committed sin and mistake to us. But if we really love God we have to obey his will and love them with all of our heart.
