Generally, people(Christians) know Grace to be God’ unmerited favor, that is, something good done to you or given to you, which you do not deserve. It is more than that. It is also God’s life transforming gift of his favor to those who do not deserve it. It is also God’s power to produce tangible results on the earth.

I want to explain the running of God’s grace using the principle of how engine works. For an engine to work efficiently, it must use a source of power or energy. This energy source can be a fuel. God’s grace is God’s power functioning like the fuel, a source of energy which supplies us everything we need in our daily life. God’s grace is abundantly given to those who believe in Him and come to him with our needs. To a limited extent, even those who do not believe in Him receive blessings by God’s grace.

How do we believe in God

The first step to run by God’s grace is believing in God. We believe in God through Jesus Christ, the only son of God who he sent to die for our sins. It is said in John 3:16, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”(New living Translation Bible).

How can we run by God’s grace

Like I said earlier, we run by God’s grace by having faith in Jesus Christ, and not relying on ourselves. God’s grace is giving to us out of his exceeding love to those who believe in him. We should also understand that Grace should not be misunderstood as an opportunity to live anyhow we like it, not how God wants it. This results in sin. Sin is not only something bad we do. It is also a negative energy released, which spreads corruption into the things created by God on the earth. This is why the forgiveness of sin is very expensive and it requires only the sinless and spotless blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse it away. This cleansing is forgiveness of sin.
I explained the concept of sin to explain the essence of faith in Christ Jesus. We run by God’s grace by using God’s power to produce results in our life so that we do not merit it, but God has to merit it. We use God’s power by believing in the word of God concerning what he says in every aspects of our life. For example, a man who is a drug addict and have tried everything to cure himself but all to no avail. What will he do? He acknowledge his problems and believe in the word of God always which is able to heal him(Romans 8:11).It may not be an instant but through constant faith in God, we shall see God’s grace working in us and our lives will be peaceful.

What will have mistaken God’s grace for.

Some people define grace to be something when good happens to you and you do not know what is going on. This is wrong. It is when you are being empowered by God to something extraordinary to produce good results.
It is also described wrongly as a cover up for iniquities. That means, continuing in sin since salvation free. This is wrong. It should be that grace instructs anybody to depart from iniquity because grace and truth realized through Jesus Christ empowers us to walk above iniquity.

Results of God’s grace

Success is automatically yours once you run on God’s grace because you are working by God’s power only. This is life lived by the believer.

Personal view

So how can we run by God’s grace, we believe in the word of God which is able to save our souls. He then empower us and supplies us resources if we can believe in God and wait patiently on him.(1 Tim 2:5,Heb 10 19:22).
