The "Energy" of the Week 🌀 Making the Mundane (W)Holy

in #religion6 years ago (edited)

Sorry it's a bit a late this week, but here is Reb Youdkevich's study of the Zohar regarding this week's Torah portion; Teruma, about the Mishkan (Tabernacle,) which is essentially the portable Temple that was eventually built after receiving the 10 Commandments / Utterances on Mt. Sinai.

Here is a verse from part of Teruma that he references: Shemot (Exodus) 25:8

וְעָ֥שׂוּ לִ֖י מִקְדָּ֑שׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖י בְּתוֹכָֽם׃

And let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.

(About 6 min.)

I hope everyone finds these vids interesting, but really I'm trying to consistently remind myself. Though I pray we all get better at seeing/remembering and practicing that these aren't merely stories from history or the Torah, but that they apply to each of us today and in every generation. And that they represent and teach a process, similar to a technology that enables or leads to something new and improved. Rinse and repeat the cycle next year G-d willing. (So I guess it's probably more like a spiral with height, than it is a cycle.)

May we all make a "(w)holy" and "raising" week!

(Model of the Mishkan in Israel.)
