Favorite Bible Stories

A number of the stories in both the old and the new testament involve some kind of a logical nexus in such a way that for the story not to be believable would involve a violation of logic. My favorite such story from the new testament is that of Jesus and the trick question:

The Story of the Tower of Babel

The lack of any real evidence for super-families of human languages indicates that if the tale of the tower of Babel didn't exist, we would have to invent it.

Likewise Genesis presents the story of Eve and the serpent without any sort of an explanation, that is, entirely as if everybody knew that women could talk to snakes. Granted you'd never get anywhere trying to teach a snake to speak English or French, but in a telepathic age, getting ideas across might not require that everybody in the picture be human...
