Hello fellow steemians, today i present to you another post which is about
Reincarnation. People have different beliefs about reincarnation. Some
believe it does exist while others believe it doesn't. I'm digging into this
serious issue for us to know what it really about.

What is reincarnation? Let us look at the dictionary view point on
Reincarnation.

A rebirth of a mental capacity, such as a soul in a physical life form,
such as a body.

The idea of such a rebirth, a specific belief or doctrine on how such
a rebirth occurs.

A fresh embodiment.

A new, considerably improved, version.

Embodiment in a new form (especially the reappearance or a person
in another form.

A second or new rebirth.

The dictionary explains reincarnation in different ways but they all
center on one word which is rebirth.

CHRISTIANS VIEW POINT ON REINCARNATION

The Holy Bible object to reincarnation. It indicates that man is a unique
creation of God, made or created in God's image with a material body,
an immaterial soul and spirit. Man is describe as different and special
from all other creatures. The bible teaches that when man dies, his
mortal body decays and returns to the soil or dust. His spirit and soul
continue on either in a place of torments for those who reject Christ or
in Paradise (Heaven) in God's presence for those who have believed
in the saviour.

The two categories of people will rise again, one to eternal judgement
and the other to eternal life with a glorified body (John 5:25-29).
The bible emphasize that

it is appointed unto man to die once and after death judgement.
(Heb.9:27).

This statement shows that mankind creation in God's image is
extraordinary from animals. Angels also stand against the idea of
reincarnation.

Christians believe that once you die, you no longer exist in this physical
world. So seeing the identity or physical appearance of a dead person
live again on this earth are the work of the devils or evil spirit.

MUSLIMS VIEW POINT ON REINCARNATION (TRUE ISLAM)

stock-photo-quran-with-rosary-holy-book-of-muslims-koran-quran-white-backgr.jpg

Numerous Quranic verses confirms this position regarding the
Reincarnation concept, they can be classified as follows:

FIRST: THE 'BARZAKH' (BARRIER)
When death comes to one of them, he says "my lord send me back so
that i may do good deeds regarding what i have neglected". But no!
These are just words which he utters. A 'barzakh' (barrier) is placed
behind them until the day they are resurrected. 23:99-100.

The above words confirm that when a person dies, God takes his or
her soul while he or she is still in the process of imploring God for
another chance. As soon as a human dies a barrier is immediately
in place. The barrier prevents his or her soul from returning to earth.
This barrier is maintained until the day of resurrection.

SECOND: NUMBER OF DEATH'S (TWO DEATH'S OR ONE DEATH?)
The mention of two deaths and two lives in 40:11 may cause some
interpreters to somehow connect the Quranic teachings to the
concept of multiple births, however on closer examination we
realise that the opposite is true. They said " our lord, twice you have
Put us to death and twice you have brought us to life; now we have
confessed our sins, is there any way out?" 40:11

The truth of the matter is that this very verse serves as another
solid proof against any such theory. 40:11 traces the progress of
our course from the feud in heavenly society (38:69) to the day of
judgement. We made a covenant with God (5:7) and then we were
put to death. The fact that we were all living in a previous life before
being brought to earth is well confirmed in the Quran.

Consequently, the first death ended our lives in the previous life
which was in God's kingdom and not here on earth. The second death
ends the lives of disbelievers here on earth hence they said to God:
Twice you have put us death and twice you have brought us to life.
The other believers on the other hand do not taste the second death,
after the end of their lives on earth the angels invite them to enter
heaven. They do not die but move straight to heaven.

Upon our first death, we were brought to this life to be given a
further chance to redeem our souls and submit to God's absolute
authority. This is our first and only life on earth. The 'one death' for
believes and the 'two death' for the disbelieves set the rule that
all humans have only one life on earth and that no one returns to
earth after their death. This is clearly different from reincarnation
which implies multiple lives and deaths for each individual.

THIRD: APPORTIONED SHARE IN LIFE
In this life every human being is apportioned to share in accordance
with God's will. The Quran explains this concept in the following
verse: And seek, though what God has given you, the abode of
the hereafter, and do not forget your share in this world. 28:77

This means that God has decreed for each human a share in this
earthly life, which is entirely dependent on His will, and has nothing
to do with one's actions in previous lives. A concession for
multiples lives would violate the concept of a fixed and preset share
in this life, this is because each different life would encompass a
different share and not a set share as we read in 28:77.
God provides for whomever He wills without count. 24:38.

There are always some case studies which may influence one's
thinking causing some to believe in such multiple life theories.
Many observations and beliefs are based on so called 'past recall'
or 'deje vu'. Many interpret such occurrences to having been living
in a different place and time in a previous life. However, there are
many plausible explanations to such phenomenon. One such
explanation is the unseen contact with the jinn who could be
transferring such visions to us and tricking us into believing that
we were alive in a previous live and place. The stories of jinn and
their interactions with humans is well documented in the Quran.

It is worth nothing here that the majority of the jinn are disbelieves,
and it is understandable that they would try to trick us into thinking
that we have numerous lives, and thus impale the urgency to strive
for righteousness in this only life we are given.

The Quran evidence against the concept of reincarnation leads us
to reject this theory. This life on earth is our only chance for
redemption, we should set our goals and priorities straight and seek
God's approval through righteousness and good deeds. Contrary to
what the devil may want us to believe, we will not get another
chance.

BUDDHIST VIEW POINT ON REINCARNATION

Would you be surprise to learn that reincarnation is not a buddhist
teaching? "Reincarnation" normally is understood to be the
transmigration of a soul to another body after death. There is no
such teaching in Buddhism - a fact that surprises many people,
even some buddhist. One of the most fundamental doctrines of
Buddhism is anatta, or anatman - no soul or no self. There is no
permanent essence of an individual self that survives death,
and thus Buddhism does not believe in reincarnation in the
traditional sense, such as the way it is understood in Hinduism.

From the above you could see that the view point of the mentioned
Religions have some similarities on reincarnation.
What is your belief about reincarnation? Does it exists?
You hold the answers to these questions now.
Thanks for reading.

Sort:

And people like me have a completely different view on this one and that's fine we all can have our opinions based on our understanding.

Rather than a theoretical perspective I'll go on a practical view, thanks to our understanding of everything more than ever we can bring back someone to life after they have died of course you need to preserve their body or just mind where their everything what makes them concious exists.
That's the field of cryonics.

Your contribution has widen my knowledge... and advance one as such. @asteemian

Your thought and cited above are very true, i think reincarnation depands on human's karma. There are lot of books has been written about rebirth, who would knew? what is right or wrong? every soul only will know that after death. Thanks for the extraordinary.

welcome! cheers!

Nice contributions from you @emmanuelacheamp. If indeed reincarnation is transmigration of the soul into another then i go to an extent to say that reincarnation transpired between John the Baptist and Elijah by giving the following:

Matthew 17:10-13 Bible. Matthew 17:10-13
[10]The disciples asked Him, Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?
[11]He replied, Elijah does come and will get everything restored and ready.
[12]But I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know or recognize him, but did to him as they liked. So also the Son of Man is going to be treated and suffer at their hands.
[13]Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them about John the Baptist. [Mal. 4:5.]

Mark 9:11-13
[11]And they asked Him, Why do the scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to come first? [Mal. 4:5, 6.]
[12]And He said to them, Elijah, it is true, does come first to restore all things and set them to rights. And how is it written of the Son of Man that He will suffer many things and be utterly despised and be treated with contempt and rejected? [Isa. 53:3.]
[13]But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and [people] did to him whatever they desired, as it is written of him.

Matthew 11
[14]And if you are willing to receive and accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come [before the kingdom]. [Mal. 4:5.]

In bracket, i say what is your opinion on reincarnation? The answers are with you.
Thanks once again @emmanuelacheamp.

No one knows what happens after death, until death. There's a chace re-incarnation could be possible.

By the way, great post. Really educative.

You have made a strong point. @udochi
