On Usury - A Tweet From Michael Krieger

I love this tweet by Michael Krieger. I am not sure if he knows this is the law of God, but I love to see people recognizing the truth in God's laws.

The true victory is realizing that God has meant only the best for us all along. He gave us these laws to keep us safe. He gave us these laws to protect us. When we forsake God and the good guidance he has given us, that's when things go bad. That's when evil runs rampant, as it is now.

"The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender." (Proverbs 22:7).

Central Banks who loan money at interest make slaves of the borrowers. This is strictly forbidden by God:

"If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him." (Exodus 22:25)

Instead, we should do as Jesus teaches us,
"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return..." (Luke 6:35).

Just because bankers have a sneakier way of getting slaves doesn't make them any less reprehensible.
