Colossians 3:23

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the
Lord, and not unto men;

Meng Fei is a lowly gym cleaner in China who spends a lot of time on his knees. During game timeouts, he pounces onto the court like a cat, sprints to wherever there’s sweat or spit, furiously attacks it with rags in both hands, and races back to his spot like an Olympic runner. His blinding speed and intense focus have taken crowds by storm, and some fans enjoy watching him more than the game itself. Meng’s video clips have gone viral, and several NBA teams in America are trying to hire Meng for their games too.

Meng Fei a good example for us all. Whatever we do we should do it enthusiastically, with all our hearts. But notice the last part of the verse: “as something done for the Lord and not for men.” It isn’t enough to perform our work with faithfulness and enthusiasm if we’re doing the wrong work or if we’re doing it for the wrong reason. We will find fulfillment only when our work is done enthusiastically—and rendered for His glory.
