Wow, the Guardian's study shows what I thought for a long time. The time of people actively going to church is in its last days. Our generarion and the next ones will develop a whole other lifestyle apart from church, I guess. One day churches will only be a sight to see when you visit a city.
funny some ppl talk about god haters here but where does this post actually hate on god, if ppl actually reserched the history of their religion then they would realize this is pretty accurate as the church (not god) but the ppl enforcing the religion made their holidays around the pagan festivals, to convert it everyone
Yep these are the facts, mate! in a nutshell it was about politics. Church knew it was competing with native Indo-European beliefs when converting peoples all over Europe and they knew eradicating them was quite impossible, so they settled on re-branding them, which they had done effectively with fire and sword to this point that we are often not sure HOW MUCH we had lost... but we know what the tactics was as exemplified in Massacre at Béziers, when the abbot yelled: "Kill them all for the Lord knoweth them that are His" and they slaughtered 20.000 people just, cause they were Cathars.
Historically there's little proof of "biblical vaues" as far as fighting the competition by the church is concerned... SO FUCK THEM ALL, LET THEM EAT SHIT AND DIE!
