You have to listen no matter how hard it is

Sometimes those that love you try to help you by telling you what they think is the right thing for you to do; you should do this; you did something wrong here; you have to listen no matter how annoying it may be, for most of us it is hard to listen to criticism, but you always have to be open to criticism especially if this is coming from those close to you.

We live in a very tribal world; the moment someone with good intentions points out a flaw or something wrong with us, we tent to react, get frustrated, argue, and sometimes even yell or say something that later on we regret.

Just imagine how awful it is to tell someone close to you something you later regret. This only created animosity, and over time this led to very bad outcomes.

Everything, good or bad, compounds in this life; having a good relationship and being in love compounds over time, making the relationship stronger. As sad as it is to admit it, dislike and hate also compound over time; it keeps building, it has this negative snowball effect, and when you least expect it, it breaks relationships, creates divorces, etc.

If there is a point they are making and you can see it clearly, then there has to be an immediate recognition (yes, I was wrong, yes, I should not have done that). Thank you for pointing that out. This is how you know they care about you.

Recognizing that you are wrong is a sign of maturity; this makes you a better human and shows them that you are an open-minded person who is mature enough and wise enough to accept and take on criticism, and even hard criticism, is how you grow in this life.
