7 Different Types Of Single

In recent times, relationship and marriage encounter different issues like misunderstanding, cheating which eventually lead to breakup. This is the beginning of singlehood to many people. There are others that have decided to be single for one reason or the other, others have Pistanthrophobia (fear of being in another relationship due to bad previous relationships).

I have personally had few experiences with single men and women, they all have their reasons for being single and have narrowed down to 7 types of singles we have around.

1.) Temporarily Single: These kind of people are mostly in between relationships, they hardly stay long being single. Most times when they feel their present relationship is going awry, they are already in look out for another relationship so they won’t be single for long. I have discovered some of them that are under this category have phobia of being alone (Monophobia).

2.) Depressed Singles: These kind of singles have found a relationship to no avail. They have the belief relationship is not meant for them so they have given up which eventually leads to depression, sadness or frustration.

3.) Divorced/Widowed Singles: They just got out of marriage or lost a loved one so they have decided to be single. Most widows or widowers feel hurt and can’t stomach another relationship or marriage. The recovery stage takes a longer time till they give up.

4.) Unavailable Single: These people prefer hanging out, going out on dates or just being with opposite sex for the fun of it than dating. They get so grossed in it, they forget about lasting relationship.

5.) Single by Choice: They have chosen to be single due to Pistanthrophobia, financial issues, health problems, celibacy and other reasons. When you ask about their relationship status, they tend to say they prefer being single till they are ready. Even if the opposite sex makes a move, they ignore.

6.) Inactive Single: They want a relationship but they are not making any move at the moment. They can also be called Passive Singles.

7.) Busy Single: They are so distracted with their busy life, they don’t have time for a relationship. This happens a lot to Single mothers. Due to a failed relationship that led to the birth of their child, they actually give up on relationship and get busy with work instead. This is to make money to cater for the child. They have lost the mojo for a partner or a relationship.

These are basically the type of Singles we have around, which one are you? Before I round up this article, whatsoever your relationship status is, always believe in love. Love truly heals all wound if we start believing in it. Yes, we may have been rejected and felt broken. Yes, we may have Phobia but the truth is, we really need to overcome our fears and troubles to push forward.
