Study shows that most adults recall the breakup of a romantic relationship as the traumatic part of their youth.

Research also shows that breakups are the leading cause of phycoligical distress
and the major cause of suicide among teenager.

A researcher of the intimate relationship among young people Lucia O'Sullivan with her husband,the director of the counselling services at the University of New Brunswick started working to track how many students came to counselling with a mental health issue relating to a breakups.

They found out that 28% of the cases seen over four months were about breakups.

Breakup believed to be the number one cause of suicide among youth.

Breakup also believed the number one cause of severe depression.
