in #relationship7 years ago

Dear steemians,

I will be taking with you a full blown course on what I called MARRIAGE REDEFINED which is going to be in series. It is going to be interesting while you take your time to read through every series. I will also borrow some already made work by "Dag Heward"for better comprehension. His work has greatly impacted on me knowledge I sought for. So I will be sharing most of his work.

The beloveds

My beloved is mine and I am his...

Song of Solomon 2:16.

A beloved is a person with whom you have a relationship, which is intended to end up in marriage. In other words, he or she is a man or woman you have officially agreed to marry. Some use the terms fiance(e), boyfriend, or girlfriend to describe the relationship, but in this article, I will be adopting the term "beloved" .

Young men and women should not be advised to have close relationships with the opposite sex, which are not intended for marriage, as these they commonly involve themselves in immoral vices such as fornication. Hence we should caution that such relationships should be entered into for the sole purpose of marriage, and that the period for developing the relationship before marriage (courtship as it traditionally called) should not be too long.

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

1 Corinthians 7:2

Are you sure you want to marry this person?
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good

1 Thessalonians 5:21

And they called Rebecca, and said unto her, wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

Genesis 24:58

Things to consider when choosing a Beloved

  • The fact that the parents are good does not mean the child will also be a good spouse. Is he/she committed to God?

  • Dont marry just because your parents say so. Is your intended partner your friend?

  • If you marry too early, you may miss out on certain things in life (eg. your youth, your time of being single and free)

  • *Consider the fact that people do not really change easily and so anything that you do not like about your beloved and therefore spouse, is not likely to change.

  • Will you be in a position to manage financially?

  • Will you have a place to stay when you marry?

  • Tribal differences are going to affect your marriage.

  • Disparity in level of education will also affect your marriage.

When you make a decision on choosing your beloved, you will need to consider all the things above first. And don't forget the definition of a beloved as earlier stated.

I do not like to bother my readers/audiences with too much of words, also the intention of putting up this post is to alert every single persons out there who has made decision or about to concerning marriage and to prepare them for both the good and bad days ahead. So I will have to pause here.
