Mastering Reiki (Part 1): Cho-Ku-Rei
What is Cho-Ku-Rei?
Cho-Ku-Rei is one of the first Symbols used in Traditional Usui Reiki. It is commonly referred to as the "Power & Protection" symbol.
Chanting, Visualizing or Drawing this symbol immediately opens and increases the flow of Universal Life Force Energy into the area in which the symbol has been placed or projected.
When using Cho-Ku-Rei in combination with any (or all) of the other healing symbols, the energy becomes amplified even further.
Using this symbol can be considered akin to flipping on the "switch" to allow the current into the chosen Sacred Space.
It is imperative for Practitioners to use this symbol when working with Usui Reiki Healing as Universal Life Force Energy must be consciously called upon - it will never violate the Free-Will of any Being.
Of course is is ALWAYS possible to sending healing energy and loving intent whether you are attuned to CKR or not. Each of us are the embodiment of Life Energy, and therefore it is available for use to each of us.
Like anything else in life, it is up to us to "tune-in" to our natural abilities if we desire to exercise the power that is within. Much like working out our muscles, it benefits us greatly to align with our intention, build our strength and expand upon it gradually.

Cho-Ku-Rei can be used to infuse healing in many ways... A few of the ways I like to put CKR to use on the regular in my personal daily routine are: powering up my food, coffee, water, plants, affirmations, shampoos, body washes, lotions, cleaning supplies and much more.
One of my favorite things to do is lay my hands upon Trees and gift them back the love they so unselfishly gift to our shared world everyday!
Of course, I utilize CKR in every healing session, and depending upon the treatment, other symbols are incorporated into the session.
