Turkish Lira - Please Report to the Woodshed
I've been following the Turkish Lira for several months now. Once Erdogan began openly defying NATO and calling out US military hegemony in the middle East, I knew the wheels of the deep state would be going into action. They could not have the 1 ME member openly criticizing them...queue regime change. The number 1 weapon they have in their arsenal for forced regime change is currency destruction and Turkish President Erdogan is playing right into their hands.
Moments ago, Erdogan has appointed Berat Albayrak, the former minister of energy and his son-in-law as Minister of Treasury and Finance. Albayrak gained some prominence in 2015, when a CHP lawmaker Eren Erdem accused Albayrak of being linked to "ISIS oil smuggling, claiming that he was able to establish that there is a very high probability that Berat Albayrak is linked to the supply of oil by the Daesh terrorists." This gave "traders" plenty of cover to pound the Lira near all-time lows and the drubbing continues...
Next stop, $5...and to think, in 2009, the Lira was at near par with the dollar....it has lost over 80% of its value in just the past few years and the longer term chart is starting to go parabolic a la Venezuela style...the everyday people of Turkey will suffer the most...those with gold will suffer less.

There is nothing possible that could go wrong when you bring in your corrupt family member to handle the money. Hah. Will we see another Venezuela? Thanks for the update as our company does a lot of business there. Will be watching.
My guess is that if the Lira goes over $5, it won't stop and it won't end well...
I forgot about the Isis oil thing,it got swept under the table!
