Good evening dear friends, I am a woman who loves paranormal and supernatural events, the stories of good terror in my Bibliographic research on Jamaica. I have found two great legends that have planted terror in the Jamaican community since ancient times, the first was about the very popular and Creepy Rose Hall mansion and now this time I want to announce The Legend of Matha Brae another creepy attraction of the island ..

sorse

The legend of Martha Brae tells the story of an old Arawak witch who lived on the banks of the Matibereon River
This woman was the only person who knew the location of a secret gold mine. The Spaniards tortured her relentlessly until she agreed to take them to the mine, but defying her supernatural powers To beat his captors. And defending her secret, created a rain storm, changing the course of the river by drowning her and her extraordinary secret. At the same time, the waters blocked the entrance to the mine, sealing into the sea what had been hidden there. The Martha Brae River has many local stories that speak of witchcraft It is said that the river is obsessed by the spirit of the woman named after her Martha Brae.

It is an uncertain hypothesis that this mine has really existed, but over the years the river has determined its great value more than any precious metal Martha Brae has supplied water to the city of Falmouth At its brief height, Martha Brae is a city strategically located; connected directly to a constant supply of fresh water Today, very few remains of the original city remain to indicate that it was once a significant center, but the river has not diminished in importance. Martha Brae still provides most of Trelawny's water supply, and is a vital source of income for beams, fishermen and many others who live on its shores.since Falmouth Water Company introduced piped water in Falmouth in 1798. The river is born in Windsor Cave in Cockpit Country, and slowly winds through the Trelawny field for more than thirty-two kilometers, watering acres of sugarcane, citrus and forests in Your way to the sea. The city, located a little inland from the coastal city of Rock, although it was the first capital of the parish of Trelawny, never really matched the stature or importance of its counterpart, Falmouth.

I hope you delight in this story that you have a happy Saturday ..

That's a really interesting fable. One of those that passes from one generation to the next...

Yep, water is very important and it's not at random that the largest cities of the world are either by the seashore or next to a large river.

Thanks for your article!

If so, this story goes from generation to generation, if this river constitutes the vital artery of this town ...
