Following a bit more than two months of operation, we realized that an effective referral marketing method could give a boost to growing the number of our holders and the capitalization of the ecosystem. Many members of the NowCoin community advised us to think about such a tool, and we also received similar advice from marketing professionals. We considered the proposals and worked out a transparent, blockchain-based, yet effective solution.

The NowCoin Market Game was created to be the most important asset in the creation of the NowCoin ecosystem. As discussed in many of our previous blog posts, a working cryptocurrency ecosystem requires all of the following:

• reasonable number of holders
• good capitalization
• merchant endpoints

According to our Vision, we wish to create the holders and the capitalization through the NowCoin Market Game, and we would use the Game to focus our holders' attention to our core communication channels. We assume that a reasonably capitalized cryptocurrency community with a channeled attention will be interesting for merchants to join and start accepting NowCoin as a means of payment.

Referral marketing is one of the most effective solution for activating a community and drive adoption of any product or service to new levels. As the famous PayPal example (http://prefundia.com/blog/getting-to-100000-users-paypals-60m-referral-program-that-nobody-knows-about/) shows, this method can lead to amazing results. Did you know, that through the legendary 20+20USD referral model PayPal was able to board 100.000 users in one month?

Our Proposal

We propose the introduction of the “NowCoin Referral Program Level 1” to the NowCoin community, and we wish the community to vote on approval or decline. We propose to copy the successful PayPal referral marketing method, whereby we would reward both the buyers and their referrers equally. Accordingly, both the buyer and its referrer would receive a bonus of 10% from the “nowcoin-reward-pool” on any qualifying purchase from the “nowcoin-referral-pool”.

As a first step, we would transfer the current 4 BTS “nowcoin-exchange-pool” genesis supply of 475830.7484 NowCoin from the exchange and would make this pool available for purchase through the referral program. The mentioned supply would be transferred to the “nowcoin-referral-pool” account.

Proposed Rules of “NowCoin Referral Program Level 1”

• Send at least 4000 BTS to the “nowcoin-referral-pool” account, AND indicate the BitShares wallet address of your referrer as a comment upon the transfer (the person who invited you to NowCoin);
• You will receive NowCoin in exchange for the received BTS at the price of 4 BTS per NowCoin from the “nowcoin-referral-pool”;
• You will receive a bonus of 10% in NowCoin from the “nowcoin-reward-pool”;
• Your referrer will also receive a bonus of 10% in NowCoin from the “nowcoin-reward-pool”;
• The “nowcoin-referral-pool” account will forward the BTS income to the “nowcoin-exchange-pool” where it would be locked until the Final Airdrop.

How Can you vote on the proposal?

Should you agree with the above measures, please send 0.01 NowCoin to the address “nowcoin-yes”. Should you disagree with the introduction of the referral program, please send 0.01 NowCoin to the address “nowcoin-no”.

The senders’ votes will equal to their NowCoin holdings upon the Snapshot. Accordingly, if you send 0.01 to “nowcoin-yes”, and you hold 235 NowCoin upon the Snapshot, then you will cast 235 votes to yes.

At UTC 00:00 on 13th July, 2018 (Snapshot) we will sum up the votes, and publicy announce the Community decision.
