Day 2: Upcycling tires into a Tire Fence for gardening
Today, my kids and I continued the tire upcycling program with our principal goal being to build a Tire fence that will limit trespassing into our yard and be used for gardening as well.
Almost all materials for the fence project are free. My kids are digging the soil we are using to fill the tires from a nearby gully. The soil we use are deposits after heavy rainfall.
As for the tires, they are waste products which were initially destined for the landfill or programmed to be burned.
By recycling the tires, we are saving landfill space and stopping tire pollution. We are also saving a lot money which could be used to build a fence as well as creating more space in our yard that can be used for gardening
For two days, we have filled 15 tires already and prepared them for planting by adding fowl droppings we get from our kitchen poultry farm. In 3 days, the first 5 tire farms will be ready for planting meanwhile we still have a long way to go.
After filling all the tires and adding manure, we will plant them and then do some amazing art work on them.
