Mashed potatoes are no mashed potatoes without butter and cream, the right amount of butter and full cream makes it absolutely worth. Spices and condiments make it truly flavorful.
With us, decorating it with scallions, adds a unique taste and a specific crunch while relishing it, and we always experiment. LOL.
