Yesterday, we had hamburgers and fries for dinner, because it was my night to cook and I took the easy way out! However, my wife cannot eat gluten and the fries the children and I ate were breaded in flour, so I made her sweet potato fries. Here is a super easy recipe that only takes about 30 minutes for preparation and baking time.
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil(we used coconut oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon table or sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
First, set your oven to 400 degrees (425 degrees if you like your fries crispier)
While you are waiting for your oven to preheat, cut the sweet potatoes into 1x3 wedges...or your favorite fry size!
Put your cut up sweet potatoes into a bowl and pour your oil onto the cut potatoes. You can mix now or wait until you add the dry ingredients. Use your style of mixing...I personally used my hands!
Now Get Down!
Now, put your cut and seasoned fries onto a cookie sheet and place in the oven. After 15 minutes flip the fries and let them finish baking on the other side for another 10 minutes.
Enjoy these easy to make sweet potato fries full of beta-carotene. This food can also fulfill 90% of your Vitamin A needs! I am not the biggest fan of sweet potatoes but I will eat them made like this. Give them a try to see if you like them and enjoy one of the world's healthiest foods!
