There is no doubt that a delicious dessert is for many people like to disconnect for a moment and enjoy that sweet moment, I have shared in my blog infinities of delicious recipes of many desserts being always my favorite ones that have chocolate and coconut, but I have also shared salty recipes very tasty and some even healthy, so today I will leave aside the desserts to share with you a recipe for a delicious broccoli and carrot cake.

The salty cakes can be served as an entrance but even adding a little chicken or meat and accompanying it with a rich salad is a complete dish, everything will depend on the taste and the way of eating of each one, I hope you enjoy the recipe, this serves to get out of the routine and surprise the family with something charged with energy and many minerals.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup and 1/2 steamed broccoli
  • 1/2 cup steamed broccoli stems
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of oatmeal

For the mold: paint with butter and add oatmeal

Preparation:

Cut the broccoli into very small saplings, stems are cut thin, washed well and cooked separately in a steamer, first the stems that are harder and once they are ready they put the heads of broccoli, both are salt and cook until they are al dente, once ready to cool in cold water to stop cooking, the carrot is grated and cooked in the melted butter over medium heat so that it is possible to brown a little, salt, onion is also sautéed for 5 minutes in olive oil and salt is added, in a bowl mix the evaporated milk, eggs, salt and pepper, cheeses, vegetables and oats, mix everything and toss it in a buttered mold and covered with oatmeal. Bake at 300 degrees F. for 20 - 25 minutes approximately, do not dry it.

Many people do not take advantage of stems of broccoli but they are delicious, in this recipe you can replace the vegetables with others, the ones you like
