Kick Start Your Day The Turmeric Way: A quick & easy smoothie that'll have you zinging out the door! ⚡️
This recipe takes no more than 3 minutes to bang together and is packed full of vitamins, minerals and amino acids to have you dancing out the door!
Ingredients:
- Turmeric - I use about a teaspoon of a powder combined with coconut & cinnamon but whatever you can gets your hands on will suffice as long as it contains that orange goodness!
- Hemp Protein - 2 scoops/tbsp. You can find this in any health & wellness store. As the most natural & complete source of protein in the plant world it is an essential addition to a vegetarian/vegan diet.
- Raw Organic Superfoods - 1 large scoop or about 3 tbsp. I use a Barre Body smoothie mix consisting of maca, hemp, vanilla, mesquite & chia seeds but again, this can be substituted with an alternative mixture, just try & make sure you get the maca & chia seeds in there.
- Apple Cider Vinegar - 1 tbsp. Nature's Choice raw & unfiltered is my favourite. As a powerful blood sugar regulator & a weight loss booster it's a needed addition after the holiday's indulgences!
- Grapefruit - 1 whole. The most nutritious of the citrus fruits, giving you a massive dose of Vitamin C as well as benefits derived from nutrients & vitamins, including potassium and lycopene.
- Lemon - 1 whole. I think the saying should be "A lemon a day keeps the doctor away" Apple's have got nothing on this fruit!! Containing everything from Vitamin's C, B6, A & E to copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and a bunch of other nourishing elements in between, it's the king of morning kick starts!
- Ginger - A thumb sized chunk. Helping with digestion & warding off colds & flu, it's a tasty & powerful addition to any smoothie!
Once you have all that goodness together peel your fruits and ginger, add them and your protein powders to your blender, chuck in a few blocks of ice, a cup of water & a few drops of stevia and blend away.
It may not look like much - even with a sprig of home grown mint on top - but looks can be deceiving, so give it a go!
