Homemade Steemit Granola

in #recipe8 years ago (edited)

Today I made a super delicious granola with almonds and apricots. Here is a detailed step by step instruction to make this simple, healthy and quick breakfast for school or work days.

♥ 250 oatmeal
♥ 50 g sesame seeds
♥ 100 g almonds
♥ 50 g grounded linseed
♥ 50 g sunflower seeds
♥ 1 tablespoon sirup
♥ 1 tablespoon honey
♥ 1 dl apple juice
♥ 2 pinches of salt
♥ 1 tablespoon oil or butter
♥ 100 g dried apricot or other fruit and berries (apple, figs, raisins, dates etc.)

First gather the wet ingredients:

Then you need to find a small pot. Add the apple juice, oil, honey and syrup. Warm it on low heat until it's blended.

Now you need to find all the dry ingredients. Here is what I used in this recipe:

I grounded the linseed with a hand blender. Linseeds are very nutritious and full of omega 3 fatty acids, but our bodies can't digest them. Therefor make sure you always crush them before adding them to your food.

Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl

Kut the apricots or other dried fruits you might have.

And the almonds.

Add the fruit and nuts to the bowl. I also had some raisins and coconut, you can use anything you like.

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl

And mix well

Prepare a large tray and put in the middle of the oven, preheated to 140 degrees celsius.

Let the granola bake for one hour, and remember to stir it about every 10 minutes.

When it is done, find a large, glass container and use the baking paper to transfer it simply to the container without spilling the granola.

You can add a few cinnamon sticks to keep it crunchy and smell nice.

Enjoy the granola with some fruit and milk!

I hope you liked this recipe and try it for yourself, let me know how it turns out :)

Great recipe! I have never made home granola. I think some people soak the almonds when they make granola.
