Riverdale Tv series Review

Riverdale is one of those teen shows that is just so addicting no matter how confusing and stupid it CAN get you have to keep on watching.

Riverdale's first season was pretty solid. Aside from some minor cringey dialogue and the unnecessary love triangles at the beginning the overall continuous mystery throughout the season was intriguing and kept viewers hooked (in a good way) there were new clues added on each episode and the plot stuck throughout the whole season. Seasons 2 and 3 however not so much. In season 2 the plot begins to derail. New plots get introduced and other small plots though important get left behind or forgotten.

Personally the reason I and others like Riverdale is because it was one of the first popular teen shows to bring up important topics such as the LGBTQ+ community, suicide, sexual assault etc. Sadly, reasons why some might hate the show is because the plots where this representation was brought up were either forgotten or just overall poorly represented. Luckily, the Riverdale Writers are fixing their mistakes from season 2 in season 3 bringing up these storylines once again.(I'm mainly talking about the LGBTQ+ representation in the show.)

Another reason why the show gets a lot of hate is their unrealistic plots. From gangs, to teen murders, to drugs the amount of things the main characters go through is so highly unrealistic that people just give up on keeping up with the show. And yes, though some of the plots are absurd and most likely will never happen in any teen's life it does provide entertainment for fans like me.

The final reason I'll list why the show is hated (before I go into the good things about the show) is the musical episodes (yes, there are musical episodes). Fans of the original broadway musicals are definitely not fans of the shows PG high-school remake. But I will argue that the cast kills it in both episodes and that all are incredibly talented!

Now right now the way I've talked about the shows you're probably wondering why watch it? The truth is the show has a ton of potential and is an incredible show in its own way. Out of all the shows i've watched the cast and creators of the show are VERY hands on with the large fanbase. That's something that fans like me enjoy that you might not usually get from other shows. The cast members are also one of the sweetest groups of people you will ever meet/see. From Madelaine Petsch, Vanessa Morgan, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, Ashleigh Murray, Luke Perry, Skeet Ulrich, Casey Cott etc. The chemistry that the cast has with one another is something fans love to see both on screen and off.

One of the main reasons why the show is so like are the couples (or ships as fans nickname then) Choni, Varchie/Veggie, Bughead, Falice are just a few. Some LGBTQ+ couples are featured and some couples that you just can't not love. Fans are addicted with these couples (some maybe a little too much) (no hate I am too).

Overall the show is surprisingly enjoyable plus mysterious and the experience (dare I call it) that you get with the cast and the fanbase is unlike any other. There are a lot of things I didn't mention (both good and bad) about the show but you'll just have to see for yourself and I would totally recommend it for someone who needs a good show to watch. I also advise to pull through and watch to the end no matter how cringey it can get because the show is unique in its own way and there's something about it that puts it apart from all the other teen drama shows. In a good way.
