Vanity as an approach to freedom and liberation from the mundane
We live in a world where we closely monitor what is going on.
Which celebrities made the most money, who broke up with whom, what reality tv show is most popular at the moment…
In America the people we see on tv are regarded as the kings and queens of society by the common people.
We think that because they are liberated financially, they are so free.
They have lawyers, politicians, workers, producers, product lines, and armies of people who admire and praise them. It’s all about the glitter and glamour.
We think that being able to act like they do, is a sign of status. After all, they must be liberated…
They can go out whenever they want, buy whatever they want, and say whatever they want.
The truth is they can’t. They are just as trapped as anyone. And they have you chasing your vanity as means of liberation.
The fact is Celebrities get crucified all the time for saying things or acting in a way which is deemed inappropriate.
Yet they have droves of people all believing that they are free if they can just chase their vanity off a cliff. They could die in the process but at least they will die free…
Celebrities don’t become rich and powerful because they are vain and have a fuck the world attitude. They become successful because they work hard. They don’t let others tell them they can’t do something. And they keep going even after they fail a bunch of times. They have passion and drive.
Honesty, patience, and virtue are what they usually start with, vanity is often a byproduct of becoming successful in a material world driven to the edge by insecurity and conflict.
These figures express their vanity as way to get everyone excited and interested about their lifestyle.
It’s not often the path that lead them to success. But rather a path they can now explore due to being successful.
It’s glamorous, exciting, spreads like wildfire, and pays the bills.
It’s now being promoted as way of liberating you.
If they can get you to chase your own vanity, that’s one less person on the food chain they have to compete with.

We make the tv star an idol of us. But we should remember that they are just acting on television. They may not be good people in their real life.
Common people are more free than a celebrity. They can't go anywhere anytime like us because they are celebrity and they want to avoid the crowd.
You are right. There are a huge different after and before of any celebrity. Success always change a person.
Nowadays people are more interested to know the lifestyle of celebrities than knowing the financial and political news.
It is a curse on us that we prefer a tv star as our idol just seeing their media face. Even we don't know how good people they are.
