Vinicius reaches 100 wins with Real Madrid

Vinicius played a prominent role in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Getafe at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night and, in doing so, racked up his 100th victory with Los Blancos.

The Brazilian provided a masterful assist for Casemiro to head home the opener, and was a constant threat for the opposition's defence.

Vinicius has achieved a century of Real Madrid wins at the age of just 21 years and 271 days, surpassing club legends such as Marcelo, Raphael Varane, Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Ramos, Isco and Karim Benzema, who reached their 100th wins at 25 years old or above.

In total, the forward has played 160 games for Madrid, with 100 wins, 29 draws and 31 defeats. In March 2021 he played his 100th match for the club against Real Sociedad in which he scored the equaliser.

At that point, he was 20 years and seven months old, and only three of the club's legends - Raul, Iker Casillas and Jose Antonio Camacho - had reached that figure at a younger age.

The future of Kylian Mbappe continues to be the subject of speculation, as it looks as though the Frenchman is still mulling over either staying at Paris Saint-Germain or moving to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos star Vinicius Jr has added fuel to the fire, with his comment on the Frenchman's social media post after scoring a hat-trick on Saturday against Clermont.

"Star," the Brazilian player wrote twice, along with an emoticon reflecting his admiration for the Frenchman.

While it could merely be innocent praise, this type of reaction is certain to get Real Madrid fans excited at the prospect of seeing Mbappe at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu next season.

His repeated refusals to renew his contract with PSG and his openly declared desire to join Madrid last summer have Los Blancos dreaming of a Galactico arrival, although nothing is decided just yet.

With Kylian Mbappe committed, Real Madrid aren't turning their backs on another statement signing in the form of the arrival of Erling Haaland, but there are financial matters to consider.

Those at Valdebebas know that in addition to the cost of Mbappe's signing, they must consider Vinicius Junior's renewal, with that scheduled for the coming weeks and he's expected to become one of the top-earning players at the club.

These are three deals that will increase the salary expenses. The departures of Gareth Bale, Marcelo, and Isco will alleviate the situation somewhat, but the leap with Mbappe and the Brazilian's new contract will be important.

The presence of players like Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic also has to be considered, with the exit door open to both, but with contracts for two more seasons. The list of forwards is completed by Marco Asensio, Rodrygo Goes, and Mariano Diaz, as well as Karim Benzema, Real Madrid's star player at the moment.

Real Madrid have been focusing everything on the arrival of Mbappe for a year and a half. During last summer, the club did not want to make any move that could prevent the Frenchman's signing.

Everything was looked at in detail, especially the finances. Los Blancos have, for years, prioritised the financial state of the club over the squad's make-up. The measures adopted have, as a consequence, allowed the club to face this summer market in a more relaxed way and with less financial stress, but that does not mean that they will go head first into signings without careful consideration.

Despite Mbappe's imminent arrival, more is expected this summer which has made Haaland a serious option, though he would cost around 350 million euros with all fees taken into account.
