A fan if of open system. Apple constructs their software and products so you abide by the way they want to do things. Yes they did succeed since people have become addicted to the apple craze and are handicapped if they try and deviate away from apple.
Yeah it definitely can be hard to switch once you get used to the easy closed system. I think it would just take massive innovation for any company to trump what Apple has as a lockdown on the market
