RE sustainability

In the past decade alone, U.S. citizens have lost over $1 trillion due to adverse climate effects. The global economic and human costs are much higher. Structures constructed by the real estate industry make up more than a third of the world's tangible assets and are primarily responsible for one-third of global total greenhouse gas emissions through the use of fossil fuels during construction and operation. If this industry is to maintain responsible leadership in the global community, it must encourage a culture of sustainability and innovation that meets the increasingly interconnected challenges of the world.
