The same thing is true of "great tribulation" it occurs only 3 times in the new testament and in the KJV it never says "the great tribulation" yet it is treated as a superlative in end times study.
Great point, I am about to post about every time that the two words translated as "tribulation" in the New Testament ("thlipsis" and "thlibo") are used.
