HISTORY

Earl Sweatshirt, less known as Thebe Neruda Kgositsile was born on February 24, 1994 in Chicago. He is the son of a poet and black socialist Keorapetse Kgositsile and law professor at the University of California, Cheryll Harris. His parents split up when he was 8 years old.

In his teenage years he became interested in rap and started to try music. His serious career begins at the end of 2009 when he meets Tyler The Creator. When Tyler heard Earl's work, he immediately liked it and offered him cooperation. In short, Tyler invited Earl to his hip-hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (OFWGKTA). Participating in the meetings of the collective, Earl began working on his first mixtape called Earl mixtape .. which he published in March 2010. After the release of his music, he must stop his music career for over a year, because his mother sends him to school in Samoa until he turns 18.

For good he returned to OFWGKTA, working again with Tyler, The Creator, Domo Genesis and Hodgy Beats. He signed a contract with Columbia Records, he also appeared on the Grammy-nominated album by Frank Ocean, Channel Orange in the song Super Rich Kids. With the producer Flying Lotous, he recorded the song Between Friends for the Adult Swim series.

The second release and Earl's first full-fledged album were heralded by the loud single Chum. Doris was released on August 2013, earning positive reviews. The album was accompanied by Pharrell Williams, Casey Veggies, Tyler, the Creator and RZA. Doris is the expression of the great talent of this young voice of the new wave hip hop from LA, much larger than the meter indicates. Earl, with a methodical flair, spins dark fantasies, even more disturbing, if you consider his incredible slack.
