Mmm.... I love fermented foods. Is it true that just about every house there makes their own kimchi? A buddy of mine who goes to SK often always tells me that.
Yes, there is actually a time when the season where every family makes kimchi! And when Koreans go abroad, they continue to do so even outside of Korea :D pretty awesome.
I should try fermenting some of my own stuff. How does one learn how to do it anyways? Does someone need to show you how to do it or can you pretty much learn itfrom the books?
I also like beans but i heard about the beans for first time. And yes, i agree with you, these barrels have the artistic and traditional design and essence and reflecting as decorative pieces too. I really liked the environment of this museum because the whole greenery and colourful trees and the greenery is growing with the height of building. Nice to hear about that little street which is beside the temple, in my opinion you will get the spiritual essence too. View from your friends temple is really awesome and i specially admired that set of solar panels. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂
I adore traditionally fermented kimchi’s and bachan. So delicious and plenty of good probiotics and fiber! Lovely pics of Korea!
A new visitor! Welcome and thank you. Kimchi and banchan is all you need for that perfect side dish mix.
Aside from fermented kimchi I also love fermented soy bean paste. Love it foŕ dipping fresh vegies.
Nothing like dipping veggies in fresh fermented soy bean paste. But eating only veggies with this paste is not the true Korean way.

This guy is the guru: https://www.wildfermentation.com
Search for anything and put fermented in front of it and you will be surprised at how easy it is and how simple the guides are.
Eg. Try "fermented salsa" or "fermented kimchi".
