@Kristyglas has posted a new competition in random-games to create your own secret alphabet or Wingdinglish the competition can be found here:

https://steemit.com/contest/@kristyglas/random-games-week-7-wingdinglish

I have made a number of these alphabets during my trying teens and I was going to pull one out and post it, but it felt weirdly like a betrayal to my teenage self so I have scrapped that idea and I have made a new one.

I wanted to make it as simple as possible with the idea to photograph it using black and white checker pieces, only it turns out that I do not own a checkers set. I have two chess sets but no checkers.

Nevermind, the pattern nudged at me until I realised that it could be turned into an abrievated sign language alphabet.

Direction of hand is the vowel attached with u being a small circular motion. Straight down would just be the letter on its own.

I hope you give it a try. If you're video minded sign your name and I will send the first person 0.2SBD

Have fun, Grace.

Great post. they say that the people who are most successful are those who are doing what they love.

Interesting alphabet, the signs remind me of those abstract IQ test shapes :D

Huh, I didn’t think of that. I always think of those as the little men with different coloured arms and legs.

Fascinating! I admit I'm a little confused how it works and how to use it, but it's very unique :D
Also you can add your old alphabets to the post if you find them! It would be very interesting to see now and back then ^^

I certainly don't have all of them anymore. I do know I wrote in dinotopian for a while as well as elvish from the Tolkien books among my own made up letters. If I have time I will finish the signed alphabet to make it a bit clearer and edit my post.

It's a pitty, but I understand, couldn't find my old stuff either. I'm sure it's packed away somewhere tho ^^

Oh wow.. this is cool and very interesting @gmatthe2! I think I need to read this a few more times to understand how it works. Your mind is amazing.

Thankyou @marblely, I've enjoyed looking at all the others. I like your elegant swirls and @cryptocariad little pictures.

Way beyond my understanding, @gmatthe2, but I appreciate a good alphabet and challenge to our 'preconceived' ideas of communication :D

Thank you, @Cryptocariad, it might be a little easier to understand now. I've posted the rest of the alphabet and added an example.

That seems really complex, great post.

@javo1096

I'm glad you like the post. I promise I wasn't trying to make it complicated. I just can't draw, so I needed something I could photograph.
