Meanwhile Back At The Ranch: one hell of a week!

When I last updated you we were getting ready to go out and rescue Jade. I took the old plow truck which is not really fit for a long trip like this. We did not no what we would find though, so I drove it out. Jadi drove out the other pickup with the snowmobile in it just in case.

Turns out the worst of the snow was right on our ridge.
There was so much snow pushed up around the transmission that it messed up the linkage on thre shifter to the Duramax. It is still down and won’t shift into park.
We did get him out and plowed the road.
This took the whole day Friday before we got back home.

We all did make it home safe. Jadi was having intuition that friendly girl was about to drop a calf so about dark the whole family went back out to check.

At about 5 am last Saturday our second calf was born!
Friendly Girl who spent last summer in our back yard was the proud mama.
My wife and I decided we needed to go see this little fella so about noon we headed out.
Shortly before we arrived another little surprise popped out.

Shy girl was the other visitor to our back yard.
And another bull ( both are now steers)
Everybody is healthy and no one was born in a blizzard Yay!
This weekend the snow was gone and we were back to fencing.

Calves are doing great!
