Where are they now?

Last year around this time there was an army of youtube channels about crypto with just one goal

to make you rich

Of course not before you throw some money their way to make them rich first

Some of them probably were successful as long as you sold the top.

But to be fair it was pretty easy last year. You pretty much could choose your favorite 3 letter combination, throw money at it, wait for a week or so and cash out. Rinse and repeat.

While I am still getting a lot of my crypto news fix through youtube, I noticed a lot of those "experts" has disapeared.

Some with a bang through the closing of bitconnect, some more silent.

I assume being wrong too often is not selling courses.

or creating and promoting a crypto course without knowing anything else but ponzi schemes

"I am not really sure what a public key is"

The next bullrun, whenever it comes, will let those channels pop up like mushrooms again and some will make "great calls", when everything is going up.

I noticed some twitter crypto shillers just give you a list of 20 coins and if one of them goes up they post it around 17 times what a good call they made without mentoning the 19 where they lost money.

When I started out in crypto I followed a lot of people. I did not know anything about those magic coins and they seemed to know everything and I was eager to learn.

From many I could pick up something useful, many were a waste of time and sometimes money.

Which crypto youtubers you still watch? Have you done the same mistake as me?

unfortunately, i think most people have gotten and taken their investment advice on youtube. I used to watch around 10 different channels, with main focus on 2-3. This way i could get an overall idea of what coins could be interesting.

of course the right way would be to do your own research and read the whitepaper, but lets face it, not everyone is tech savy and would be able to understand all of it.

My goal over time has been to focus on the coins with real fundamental value that actually have real life applications.i am talking about steem, bitshares and eos. also Enigma. These coins tend to be atleast a bit more stable and i am sure they will be around and not die out like many other coins.

I used to get my input from many channels as well and was looking which coins all of them mentioned to try to see where the hype goes. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not.

Regarding Whitepapers, I ve read through a bunch and often I did not understand the tech part. There some of the channels were really good explaining it.

I am still interested in coins like OMG or VET but I am not sure if I would jump into coins like SMART, not regarding price (everything sucks atm) but it lacks some fundamentels I feel.

No real partnerships, just an idea and hype

Yea SMART was not a smart coin to buy for me. The thing with coins that have high inflation is that is sounds awesome, and during the bull market it works, but in the bear market it bleeds out quick as hell.

It just seemed at the time that they had a huge nice community and it seemed promising. But i guess the real magnifying glass should be on the creator and the people running the business.

I too knew nothing and YouTube was full of morons like the bitconnect peeps and suppoman just shilling random shit without knowing a single thing. Since then I've narrowed it down to 5 now. David Hay, MrSotko, Doug Polk, The Martini Guy and Decentralised TV

I need to check out some of those.

I have mixed feelings about Decentralised TV though. But I really like Doug Polk

I agree I watch Decentralised TV because his always on the latest info but his opinions to me aren't always well researched and genuine!

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3

I am so happy that the majority of those channels are dead now! I hated being flooded with opinions backed by nothing but hype smh

Yeah was sometimes hard to filter the important stuff through all that noise

Yeah was sometimes hard
