Today's Beautiful Hadith is about Praying at Night

Narrated Aisha: With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 3, Book 32, Hadith 11)

    How long would the prayers normally last?

    Depends on indiviual strengths the prophet used to pray most part of the night.

    In my area we pray for two and half hours (night prayer).

    It involves:

    1. Standing and recitation
    2. Bowing with supplications.
    3. Prostration with supplications.
    4. Then sitting.
