Open Iftar hosted by Dialogue Society

Attending Open Iftar this evening at Devonshire Place, London Road, Leicester, hosted by Dialogue Society. We heard what was described as “a rich array” of speakers on tonight’s topic: “Understanding the Other: Prospects of Dialogue and Tolerance in a Turbulent Age” (Dr Idris Cakmak, Dialogue Society Leicester; Batool al-Toma, Director, The New Muslims Project; Rev Leigh Greenwood, minister at Stoneygate Baptist Church; Prof Paul Weller, Research Fellow in Religion and Society, Regent’s Park College, University of Oxford and Professor in the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University; Amrin Razak, humanitarian aid worker with Syrian refugees, poet and radio presenter on EAVA FM; Miriam Levene, Leicester Progressive Jewish Congregation; Resham Singh Sandhu, Sikh Cultural and Welfare Society).
