Razib is a scientist from Oregon who moved to Texas. His background is in genetics, but also writes about a variety of topics on his Substack.
I discovered him through genetics, but I have also found that his writing is so much better than the doggerel at The New York Times, CNN or The Washington Post. Such fake news outlets are currently being beaten back by Substack.
NEVER TRUST A JOURNALIST.
Stick with hard science. If it's not based in something such as math, physics, chemistry or computer science, move on, because your time is limited. There are a lot of frauds the moment you leave the hard sciences. Truth is organized around math, at its center. Not everything real is true, and not everything true is real. Most journalism is ad hominem attacks, and other such silly logical fallacies. Journalism is a field which as a whole, should be considered entirely composed of criminal activities, because it is, or certainly seems to be the case. The recent banning of journalists over doxxing is one such example. Clearly they not only broke the law, but all the journalists defended them insinuating that doxxing people is actually what they do for a living. You can imagine how many people must have left Elon Musks Twitter on that day. Twitter is an example of what happens when governments fail to enforce laws, and that system is allowed to amplify into a horrific tumor. Thank you Elon for doing something! Removing journalists with track records of doxxing people is a moral obligation for every government. Such activity cannot possibly be defended, and is an attack on the entire tech industry, a communist industry.
Rabia Al Basra said that if you gave a man all the wealth in the world, he would still never be rich because time is passing him by. So don't be the guy who chases bs vendors. There is a huge army of fools to serve those positions. You don't have to, which will liberate you to work on more important things that you want to. Get your information directly from the scientists, not the poets, nor the bs vendors. Make informed decisions, and do not be swayed by sentiment.
